Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone here ever installed one of those chrome valve covers found on ebay, put out by Spectre Performance - and certainly made in China. This specimen has two holes on the cover. What did you use for grommets, breather, PCV, oil filler? Did the cover fit well?

I realize these aren't top notch valve covers, but after reading another thread about the relatively expensive Offy covers needing some persuading to fit, I figured I would ask about these. Thanks!

Don't get one.

After buying the breather caps and needed grommets etc it was no longer that cheap. I bought them from my local store Autobarn, supercheap or repco had what I needed (In land of Australia).

A little bit of moisture was around it (we had a lot of rain) and it's started to rust already.

It does not fit well, required decent force to shift it into place just so you can do up the bolts. I haven't tried any other valves covers other than the stock so I am unsure whether this is common or not.

It doesn't have the baffles like the stock rocker cover.

I believe I read a post about the heat transfer being worse off for the engine. I could be wrong so don't quote me on that.

I plan to remove it and get an aluminium cover, or restore the original one.

Having said that, it still works, and did look ok until it started to rust, if all you want is a cheap fix it's fine.

Thanks for saving me from a headache. I think this brand was the same company that I bought BB valve covers from. I ended up breaking a valve cover bolt in the head on my 383 years ago. The damn holes didn't line up.....welcome to Taiwan.
