I am by no means a Slant 6 expert, I only pulled my 3rd engine out today and saw something I didn't see on the first two. It seems to be a distributor shield or something? This car has had work done on it before, the first two were a junkyard car and a parts car,neither of which ever looked like they had anything done to them, before they died. I attached a picture.

Too many people who were born on third base actually believe they've hit a triple.

If it's in good shape it will be intact....they normally crank across the rear bolt hole making it fun to repair with so little metal to play with...
