anyone know of a kit that allows you to convert a regular gas cap to a locking one? I'd like to keep my original painted one, rather than buy a new locking cap.

I don't know of a kit, but those original caps are really hard to find and are getting to be sort of expensive.

It would probably be cheaper to just bite the bullet and buy a locking one. You should expect to pay between $5 and $30. Yu could get this painted and I would probably look better than if you modify the original.

I know this doesn't really answer your question. It's just my opinion. I spent quite a while looking for an original cap.

I just started driving my car with my original style painted cap. I am very paranoid about loosing it or leaving it at the pump. Or dropping it. (The first thing I did when I got it in the mail was to drop it and put a small dent in it.)
