According to these drawings, it has venturi and manifold vacuum; but, no ported vacuum...

Distributor has no vacuum advance and the carb may not have the correct idle mixture screws, sound like a lean burn carb to me...

I can't speak for what's on sailit2000's truck; but, an '83 D-100 would have come from the factory with lean burn (or an EFC with a 62x0 carb if it was a Cali. car).

I have a '83 W-150 .It had the leanburn before I tossed it in the trash (where it belongs), and the carb is a 1bbl (Holley 2245) , so unless you've actually removed the carb and know it's a 2bbl....
I used to have a '78 D-100 with a /6 and the 2bbl, but that was a Carter (and it was horrible).

Holley 1945 is a one barrel, Holley 2245 is an emissions carb for the 360-2V and 400-2V in 1974+ Road Barges (It replaced the 2210...)
....

If your distributor has no vaccuum advance then it is the ESC/Leanburn system, the stock carb/manifold combo could have been either a 1bbl or 2bbl in 83. Mine came with the 2bbl setup on it, but when I got it there was a Holley 2280 in place of the Carter bbd that should have been there. As far as I can tell it was off of a 318, jetted much too lean for the 225 and it ran very poorly to be nice. The 1bbl that year would have been a Holley 1945(?) carb. Either in stock form work well. From what I understand the 2280 was installed on the slant 6 from the mid 80's to end of production. If you have the Holley 2280 on your slant, I would change it to the Carted BBD instead. Much better carb with more power than the Holley.
