Same carb (Holley 2300), different year. Crud kept clogging the needle valve.
Upon disassembly, I noticed the coating on the metering valve was peeling off, and corrosion was growing out of the cracks, so I got a Proform aftermarket metering block from Speedway. It looks pretty nice, anodized billet aluminum with adjustable power valve jetting. It's black, not purple.
I also used a yellow accelerator pump cam, which was on hand, not the orange cam suggested by Duster Idiot, not sure how it compares to orange. The ac. pump cam fixed the stumble on acceleration, but now there is a bog after the revs come back down.
I need to get a vacuum gauge still, and a better timing light that shows the RPM. I'm thinking of increasing the power valve jetting, which might tell me if it's a lean or a rich stumble.
Any ideas if a bog on deceleration is usually too much fuel or not enough?

Usually too much.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it was too much fuel accumulating, too.
I stepped up the power valve jets, thinking it would make the situation worse, but instead, the bog disappeared! This slant wants more, more, more fuel. Now to watch the gas gauge drop.
When I have time, I want to get more into the vacuum profile, etc. like wjajr is doing up north, and get more proficient on carbs.

Yellow cam is just one step up from the very tiny white cam...the yellow cam is just under the lifts for the red cam...Orange cam is standard and
is more then either of those.

Glad to see you are getting it dialed in and it's taking less pump shot.
