Can you define "way too much compression"?

What did you calc it out at?

What camshaft does this engine have, stock, or some big aftermarket stick? Until you compute engine’s dynamic compression using actual dimensions from your engine, you’re just guessing. If the cam has sufficient overlap, you may be able to run it on pump gas.

Sounds good to me too. Just need the right cam along with free breathing intake and exhaust systems. :D

I think you could buy a copper head gasket (SCE and one other manufacturer?) and sandwich it between two composite gaskets.

I have also doubled up felpros to get about 0.068" total thickness. I use spray copper gasket sealer in between the gaskets but not on either side. Held fine in my 10:1 68 Dart motor for a few years.

I always thought that the 3 100's were the best starting point.
Bore .100 over. Mill head .100.. Deck block .100
Felpro permatorque head gasket is around .040

Forgot to say try Cometic, Talked to them at the SEMA show. They said they can do Slant head gasket whatever bore and thickness you want.
Worth a call.
