Ok I know they say there are no stupid questions but this might fit the bill. When I pulled my distributer the other day I heard something fall off or out of it. I looked forever and could not find it but I know I heard something fall out. Put it all back together and seems fine but I hate when I have leftover parts even if I cant find them. Any ideas? Its a 170 with electonic ignition btw. thanks, Mark

Inspect the rotor and the underside of the cap for broken/missing chunks or pieces.

Thanks Dan,

I looked and nothing was missing. Is there maybe a washer on the underside of the distributer?

Two O-rings: one sits in a groove about halfway down the distributor shank, and the other sits just freely at the top of the shank where it meets the distributor body. That latter one is probably what fell off.

Thanks Dan I will check that out tomorrow. On another topic, I need the connector that connects to the ignition switch. I have patched the one I have to the point where its not patchable anymore. I guess I could just put labels on the wires and not use a connector but I would rather not...thanks, Mark
