Is there a way I can find original ownership details of my car?

I have the 10 digit number, the car came of the St Louis production line in 1962 and I believe it has had a few owners since.

I am undertaking a full restoration back to original state - bare metal respray, new interior, including seat trims, door trims, hood lining, etc. I am very lucky as the car is rust free, straight and complete, although some minor panel work required.

I bought the car from a guy in Edgewood, New Mexico and have a copy of the title.

Any info on tracing the car's ownership / history by using the 10 digit number or current title number would be appreciated.

You very likely can't. Check with your state's vehicle registrar (Department of Motor Vehicles, Secretary of State, or whatever it's called where you are), but they will probably not release that information if they even still retain it.
