A few months ago i finally convinced my grandfather to sell me the old Dart that had been promised to me many many years ago. (Bought it to make sure i didn't get screwed by some family members) I took these pics the day it was signed over to me. I have done quite a bit of work to it lately and hope to get more done soon. Brakes have completely redone, i kept the brake drums just because i wanted to keep it as original as possible and never had a problem stopping it when i drove it in the past. I won't be driving it a lot either so i decided to stay with the drums. I cleaned the carb out and replaced the filters and its back to running like its old self. Have to do a tank liner or get a new tank, looking more towards the liner. And still searching for new tail light lens (been looking for years.) Anyway here are some pics, it was originally white but my pops had some brown primer he put on it when the paint got bad to keep the body from getting in rough shape, only has 3 bad rust spots, behind the side windows and the bottom of the trunk.

Great Car! Go with a NEW Gas Tank instead of tank liner, you'll be much happier in the future.(and they are not very expensive)

i'm gonna do the liner kit for now simply because a new tank isn't in the budget at the moment, i also race a dirt car that takes up a good bit of my spending money that the kids and wife don't get. I plan to do a new tank later on but the tank liner will do for now so i can get other things done on the car and still be able to drive it.

Dirt's for racing asphalt's for getting there, ain't nothing like slinging a car sideways and sliding through the corner playing with the throttle so you stay on the edge without spinning out. LOL i tried asphalt racing, to put it nicely the people were "different" and wasn't fun.

anyway got the brake light sensor in it and gonna do the tank if a few weeks when i get a break from the dirt track in a couple of weeks and then get my uncle to throw some paint on it at his shop.

well looks like i am gonna have to go ahead and get a new gas tank. Dropped the tank yesterday to get it drained and all so i could do the liner kit and it has a fairly large hole about 2/3's of the way up. I cleaned the area up to see if a patch would be possible but the hole will be fairly large and require welding among other things and still i doubt it will fix it enough to get the liner to seal there. So i guess its time to find a tank sooner rather than later.

I'm curious what size tires and wheels are in that '63? Do you plan on changing them? I'm looking at upsizing mine, see here .

Hey Fail, do you have a shopping list for your 63? Gimme a few days, but I might have a taillight buried some place, along with a dozen and one knick-knacks for an early A. I know I have a couple of gas tanks. Racing tomorrow, I'll dig around Monday.
