Hi all,

I had to drop my gas tank on the 65 barracuda to fix a leak. I am considering Layson's Fuel Tube Conversion, as they say it will stop fuel from dripping on the side of my rear quarter panel. Has anybody tried it? Is it worth the bucks? Is there an alternative?

Thanks,

Greg

I saw these at the Don Garlits show a couple of weeks ago.

They looked stock. I didn't look too closely after I picked it up and saw the price. Along with the core charge thing.

If you do get one, let us know how it works out. I'm curious about what they have done to them.

John

You hit it on the head. I am not very sure that I want to spend that kind on money, if I can rig something up myself. That is why I was hoping somebody else has attacked this problem.

Thinking back on it, I wish I had taken a closer look.

You've got to be kidding, all this consist of is a one way flapper or check valve in the tube, bet you could scourge one from a late model SUV or pickup and adapt it to fit from your local yard.

Thanks for the idea, Dave. I never thought about looking in a wrecking yard at a modern filler tube. I will add that to my list of stuff to do in a wrecking yard, and see if I can find a suitable donor.
