I was saving up to get new tires for my Jeep, but now I find this. What is a man to do? Too many wants for too many toys. Seriously though, I will have to do some real considering on this one. The thought of dual long runner 2 bbls is almost too much. Only question I got is, What was the HP rating of the S.A. police cars that used these?

The Base engine was the Chager Power - verified at 190 BHP 250 - 260 LBft

apparently this combo - about 230 - 250 bhp 295 - 310 lbft

The CP engine was 9.3 CR again true not marketed, 67mm exhaust and a RDP type cam and a cleaned up cylinder head

Police - Fully ported, head , 9.5 CR, improved ex manifold - cast without heatbox and larger runners some where using full blown headers, and of course the squad car manifold.

Suspension improved, and rear end replaced with the Rustler Bakkie (pickup/Ute) BorgWarner Heavyduty unit

The Std rearend frequently blew up............. TorqueFlites where 904's with 318 internals. the stock units wilted.

To put perspective on the matter the cars that replaced these where souped up Datsun (Nissan) Skyline's of the era - the only place where the beat the valiants was the first part of a drag, the val being a lot heavier and the ratios not very nice - but once it got going it reeled the lighter jap in at the 1/8th mile mark and was streets ahead at the 1/4

Also top speed was way faster than the jap

Last post was back March. Does anyone know what has become of this project? Did these ever reach production? A buddy and I might still be interested provided the price didn't get too out of hand.

I'm also in for a dual long runner intake for 175.00. What is the timeline on these intakes?

I'm still sitting here waiting for mine

No, I don't think that this went to the foundry. Sad... the price was right (for us in the USA).

Yes! Glad someone resurrected this thread! These were "long ram" dual carb intakes, were they not?

Seems to me that the only one who could continue the thread is the guy in South Africa. Also, I couldn't view any of the pics. Are they gone?
