Well there has been a change of plans on account of getting the car. As of now it sounds like were getting the car this weekend. I'll have the $350 tonight ill try and get as many pictures as i can for you guys.

since the car ran two years ago we are going to take an hour and try to make it run so we can just drie it on the trailer. When I have it I'll be sure to get you guys some pics.

Set up an alternate fuel system and ensure the line from the tank is disconnected before trying to crank it. You do not want whatever is in that tank to make it through to the carb. A rubber hose from the pump into a jerry can should work fine.

To echo and emphasize what some others have said: Brakes are your priority (once you get it running), before you get it registered. Brakes from this era were somewhat mediocre when they were in good tune. New rubber lines to be sure.

GET IT! haha the way I always see it is if it turns out to be a clunker you can part it out and make twice as much out of it! Haha Im 21 now and got my duster when I was 17.. its been a learning experience and it got me into the car bug haha I now have a 69 satellite 4 door and a 64 valiant.. all are daily drivers.. and all had been parked for many years.. of coarse go through the brakes and the mechanical stuff.. the suspension can be done after you have it up and going as a weekend thing.. honestly to get it on the road it can be as cheap as 500 bucks.. just take your time and get good deals.. you're young.. there's plenty of time to fix it..

One more thing.... (Sorry to keep adding to your list!)

You'll need to find some new shoulder belts and get them in car before you put your first 100 miles on the odometer. There is a fellow by the name of Slant Six Dan on this board who has some good sources for these. Use the search function.

If the interior is rotted, the seat belts in there now will likely be the first thing to break in a collision, leaving you free to exit the cabin in a bad way. You may not have shoulder belts in your 66, but there are ways to add them.

Having good seat belts on a '67 Satellite saved my life when I was 17. The car didn't survive, but I did...

The more things on the list the better. I know my fair share about cars and what to look for... but i dont want to forget anything. So anything you can tell me to look in to is much appreciated.

(1) Rebuild the brakes all around
(2) Replace the single chamber master cylinder with a dual chamber
(3) Replace all rubber belts and hoses
(4) Replace all fluids and filters
(5) Drop the tank, drain it, and clean it out
(6) Replace the tires

Then you can cruise to your local junkyard to find the set of bucket seats you like.

Transmission: ATF+4 is the best, but regular Dexron will be OK too.

Oil: I like Mobil 1 synthetic 5W-30, but regular old dino-5W-30 should be fine.

Better check with the guy that it is still yours. I made arangments to pick up the 65 for Saturday per the sellers request.Borrowed a trailer, ready the truck, get extra 4 wheels and tires to move the car, load jacks,etc..

Not concerned with it not being there because its not openly for sale. Its not on craigslist ebay or in the paper. Its closed up in a corn crib so nobody can even see the thing to ask about it.

Yes indeed... a great first car!
