Is it possible to replace the outlet from the head for the heater core? The outlet I am referring to is right behind the thermostat housing.

are you looking for something like this?

http://www.classicindustries.com/mopar/ ... ses-parts/

I am sure better pricing is available, found that site with a quick internet search.

Are you talking about the nipple screwed into the head that the heater hose connects to?
Thay can be unscrewed, but usually very difficult. It gets very rusty. Might have to remove it in pieces. A replacement nipple can be purchased from any auto part store. They are generic heater nipples, in the "help" section.

Thank you guys yes I am and yes they are very difficult to remove. After doing a little grinding and cleaning I think they may be in good enough shape to keep. Also I had not seen the threads under all the gunk. After cleaning I was able to see it.
