here are some shots of the interior
http://www.flickr.com/photos/13718356@N ... 300273058/
1) the interior floor and doors were coated with 'micro spheres" an amazing product..I have done my own tests,, neat stuff.
2) laid down Dyna Mat,, did a lot of sound deadener comparison shopping, considering shipping and delivery, found Dyna Mat Extreme to be a value package.
3) added a dense rubber layer over the transmission tunnel,, gear noise is huge...NVH,, Noise-Vibration-Harshness,,is a factor that I work with daily.
4) added a layer of speaker foam over the tranny tunnel to improve the fit..

had to make a few slits to make it fit,, so far so good. :D

I have a hard time seeing what body work your truck needs. Very nice truck. Almost makes me want to get one.
After driving one daily for a couple years, I can tell ya the manual steering and lack of air conditioning really takes a toll on long drives in the summer.

new brake lines are installed, fuel line and electric choke heater are finished, reinstallation of the OE wiring harnesses is about 95% complete. Next up will be wiring in the additions: power windows and locks, electric fuel pump.. plenty to keep busy with.
here are recent photos.

There are only two things wrong with DT's truck. Number one - I don't own it! Number two - it is going to be too nice to drive!

Yes bring it to Mason Dixon - The East Side Kickoff Race is awesome - They love us there..

Would this be a trailered truck or a Driven truck to the Race?
Team covalt always has 32 of these trucks in the field at the race.. Finally time to show up those cowboys!

Good Work John!

Greg

John, The truck looks awsome!! Can wait to hear how that new cam works! We'd love to have you at Mason Dixon! Not sure we would let Cookie into the pits if he comes along!

Covalt's only have 4 or 5 trucks there. Greg exaggerates a little!!

I hope not,, as that would mean something broke

I have put a lot of effort in the this truck,, but I intend to use it .
The 83 D-150 won't ever see snow again, but the plan is to use it as my daily driver from spring to fall for the next ten years or so,,will also be my track vehicle untill I get the 68 Baracuda runable...
But need to get it done before that can happen..

Hey! Someone will have to come along to stand guard by the truck to protect it from onlookers. The truck looks even better in person (so do I). I predict DT"s Cuda will be a work of art!

getting the lights wired in:

wired in the low and hign beam head lights. Each has their own relay and fuse, using the mid 90's Caravan relay module.
Dad installed fender mounted head light and turn signal flashers back when this truck was new,, always thought that was cool,, kept em.
I added the 68 cuda front fender corner lights,,,I like styling elements to match.

working on more of the wiring,,,used a steel tape as a 'fish' to pull the wires between the cab panels...worked pretty good,, on all of the wiring I am crimping, soldering then sealing the conections with heat shrink tubeing

added an overhead console ,, got it out of a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix,,
it has map lights, a drop down eye glass holder, a garage door opener holder and a small covered compartment. It was a neutral gray color,, sprayed it with SEM-plastic paint trim black,,
I plan to put a padded interior roof in,,that will give the console a finished look,,, but that will be a next winter project...

I must have been feeling the Pontaic stuff as I also found a nice set of sun visors in a 2004 Aztek,, the OE D-150 sun visors were flimsy.. these have a nylon mesh cover that will go with the interior nicely, they also have the pull out extenders,,I'll dye them to match the D-150 interior.

also finished up the high mount stop light, the high mount light is from a 94-98 chevy pick up,, I think the angular lines of the light look good on this truck...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/13718356@N ... 413383885/

still have the power windows, power door loock to go.. plan to get that done this week
