Pulling instrument panel this weekend so I can do the Madelectrical.com Ammeter bypass/Charging rewire job. Also doing the Headlight relay hookup. Oh and adding a Voltmeter to replace Ammeter.

#1 Are there any tricks or hang ups I can expect on pulling 70 Dart Swinger Dash (Standard, Not Rally)

#2 I was wondering if I changed the Positive field sensing wire of the volt reg from the ignition wire to the new main power buss (Starter Relay) will volt reg get better a reading and more optimal performance from Alt? Or is the ignition Wire fine?

Am I just crazy and cannot stop tinkering with the car. I guess thats three questions.

Tim

I am also having an electrical problem w/ my '71 Valiant. I already bypassed the guage, but there is still a short in the system somewhere after the guage. I could use some instructions on how to take the dash apart, and also an A body specific wiring diagram.

Tim - I did the MAD rewire on my duster and did not remove the gauge cluster. Spend a lot of time on my back, but it was not that difficult. It is worth it, I picked up a 1v from the deal.
I would route the sensing wire to the starter relay as that is closer to the battery and has all the power draw.
