Ron,

Would you dare to drive the Valiant? You could drive it conservatively (I know, I know, hard to keep your foot off the floorboard at the strip)

The weather looks to be great for the race! So I will be on the road Friday mid morning sometime.

Anybody that has been to the "Farm" that knows where the Slant 6 folks usually park? Which side of the track at least?

See ya all on Friday.

Rick

Rick I know where we used to park but dont know if racers still park there. We parked near the track entrance gate on the east side of the track. I should be there at 5:00 when the gate opens and we will figure it out then. If we can still park there it would be good because its near the staging lanes.

Im still working on the Dart. Rebuilt a second engine and had more problems than I can count. Murphy has been working against me as hard as he can. I should know today if it is going to work. For the first time in years I didnt have some sort of backup engine and it looks like it bit me. The Valiant will be my emergency backup. Unless someone has an available street car with an automatic and looking for a driver.

Ok Ron, I plan to be there at 5:00 or shortly thereafter.

We'll be heading out of here hopefully early morning Friday. I managed to get the car on the trailer the other evening after work.

"On a Wing and a Prayer" as usual...

(I've got me a "Pit Crew", so we might make it... )

Hey Ron, the Duster is for sale if you want the engine and can junk the rest...

Or,... Maybe I could convince one of my "Pit Crew" to drive Stella there for ya!

The Dart is alive again! I put a permaseal head gasket on as last resort. No copper one on hand, Maybe it will last a few rounds without blowing. It runs good but it could go on the first pass. Nothing to do but try.

The race is getting close and I am getting excited. It looks like these are going to be big races. Wait till you see the trophies! As I said Charles Myers did them and for the Wilkesboro race we have big trophies for winner, runner-up and semis. Plus the winner gets the big Dale Rose Memorial Plaque. Each racer will also get a commemorative attendance plaque and last but not least a pretty good purse.

Ron,

Fingers crossed.

I can happily offer you my 64 yellow Valiant to race, but you have to come to Blacksburg to pick it up - no trailering required. Some Covalt's were maybe going to run it, but those Covalts are not coming this time. It runs around high 10s in the 1/8th.

See you all Friday afternoon!

Lou

All loaded and ready to go too! Leaving at about 9:00AM

Is someone going to have a jack there that I can use? Debating whether I need to haul mine down or not.

Rick
