My brake lights stopped working recently on my 67 valiant 100. At first i assumed it was a fuse that burned out, but there is no brake light fuse i found. Both of the bulbs work when i turn the head lights on.

Any idea where the problem might be?

If you look up under the dash where the steering column is supported and the brake pedal (and clutch too...) are hanging there is a little bracket with a white plastic plunger that activates when you hit the brake pedal....these sometimes come out of alignment, or the plunger wears to one side and 'slips' off the brake pedal causing the lights to not activate.

First check to see if the lights activate when you manually work the plunger, then determine if it needs to be adjusted/ it slipped, or if it's worn and needs to be a) replaced, or b) have a dime epoxied to the plunger to make it work for right now'...
