Have a slant six that i'm using for bracket racing, nothing fast best it's gone so far is 15.02 but i know the cam timing is retarded. Need advice on what to run it at. Here's the cam specs:

Lift 470/489
Adv Duration 262/268
Duration @ .050 224/230
Seperation 108
Centerline 106

My cam builder said not to run no more than 104, i've read that when racing to run these engines anywhere from 98-102. This engine does not have alot of compression probably just 8.5-1, running a 3600-3800 stall converter & 4.86 gears.

Hope you're having fun with it! I would run it at 99-101 deg, as you wrote. You will also gain a lot by running 9.5:1 or higher compression. With that cam you can run up to 9.5 and still run pump premium. As it sits, it will probably run fastest on 87 octane.

stock static compression needs a leg up, with that cam I would have gone for 9.5:1 compression...(that's a fair amount of cam for under 9...)

I'd get online and look at a DCR calculator, plug the numbers in and play with the cam phasing...try to keep the DCR under 8.5 unless you don't have issues with paying for race gas.

If you're going to "wing it" without calcs, go 102-3 centerline and call it good.

Actually after doing the math looks like my CR should be around 9.4-1

Looks like DR is about 8.0-1
