I'm wanting to see what other people are using as far as 4bbl carbs go on a slant 6. I have a Predator 500 carb that has been fully refurbished that I was considering using, but now I'm second guessing it for my slant build.

I could see the predator for a race engine but not sure how it would handle the small displacement engine on the street.

I interchangeably use the Holley 8007 390 cfm for mileage, and use a Holley 600 cfm (80457) modded with annular boosters for race. I only chose this since I had a ton of cores and interchangeability is high between models, also since I'm running something outside the norm being able to dial in the various circuits for mpg or performance was key.

Plug and play/less fuss I'd steer you toward the AVS 500 cfm with electric choke, break in the engine and get about 1000 miles on it before swapping to the predator and dialing it in.

Frank W was running one on his drag car. Didn't work very well.

He now runs a 500 AVS Edelbrock. Works well.

i am running a holley 390 and im pretty happy with it. the conversion was easy because my car has a manual transmission and i had already changed the throttle linkage to a cable previously for a 2bbl setup.

Autolite 4100, venturi size 1.08. The 1.08 4bbl flowed 480 cfm in a test many years ago. Made for my project engine with higher comp and more cam, but I had to test it! (supersix/904) It works OK on an unmodified SL6, but it feels like overkill.
I am currently rebuilding the Offy 4bbl intake adapter plate (marine plywood!) to use a Motorcraft 2150 1.08 2bbl, mounted sideways on the outer two holes. I think that will be a better choice for an unmodified engine
