Found this guy on ebay today selling a brand new Motorcraft 2150 supposedly to replace a Carter BBD on a 258. Since I know the Super Six's had BBD's as well, how hard would it be to adapt this carb to work with the 225 slant? I like the deal, and the auction listing gave me a chuckle. How does a 2150 compare to a Holley 2280, which I was also considering? I can't find a whole lot of info on CFM's and such.

I was going to rebuild a BBD for a friend for his Jeep. IIRC the throttle linkage etc was really really different! I canned that idea quick!

I have ran the Autolite 2100 on the supersix manifold. They work great. You do need to fabricate your own linkage. The Ford versions don't have a usable port for your vacuum advance. The AMC versions do. You should use the version with 1.08 on the float bowl.

The Motorcraft 2150 has ported vacuum. Linkage is the same problem as on the Autolite 2100's, but if you can use a hacksaw and a drill, you should be able to make it work relatively easy. Kickdown linkage may be simpler with a cable, like Bouchillon's solution.
They are great carbs. You will also need a new air cleaner, the 2100/2150 use the same size as a 4 bbl. If you live in a climate zone that demand some hot air to the air cleaner box, you should try to find a 4 bbl F/M/J-body aircleaner, they build low. Some Ford boxes are suitable too. The carb itself has an aircleaner flange that is almost exactly 1 inch lower than the BBD's, so there is room for the adapter plate.
I am making a sideways mount for my 2150 for use on the outer two holes in my Offenhauser 4 bbl manifold, and I also use the original Ford hot air choke, with electric assist.

Unless you get lucky at a swap meet or find a nice junkyard these will be tough to find... In this area there weren't many F body 360 cars, and the state police used 318-4v Dippys and Gran Furies, but most got the engine yanked to be transplanted to a pre-74 mopar (cheaper horsepower over finding an E58 360)...sadly I have not seen anything bigger than a 318-2v lately unless it's a 5.9 EFI Magnum....

Hopefully there is an older yard near you that might have something tucked away in the back, you might check under the hoods of the bigger fords like the 70's lincolns and t-chickens since they had 460-4v and had to use a drop air cleaner to fit in the over crowded engine bay...(they maybe rare in your area as they are easy pickins for demo derby)

My work buddy was just telling me his cousin (a friend of ours who has a shop here in town) has a friend who owns a Dodge "graveyard" where they've found some crazy pulls that would have cost a fortune otherwise. I can certainly ask around there.

Something that was on my mind the other day, is there any particular reason carbs run the circular air cleaner? With my sister working at a home improvement store, it wouldn't be that hard to find an L pipe that would fit to the carb top (basically like a bonnet) to connect to a newer style box cleaner and filter, to look cool while helping route cooler air in from outside the engine bay.

Nabby, as long as the air cleaner provides the clean air you need, anything goes! The exception is if you need the hot air hose from the shield around the exhaust manifold, it helps in preventing carburetor icing. There are also plenty carb hats on the market, used by the turbo guys.

Another solution that I have looked into, is to cut out the bottom of an ordinary 1bbl or 2bbl aircleaner, and glue/rivet/solder/weld on the bottom half of an aftermarket 'open' aircleaner that is sized for a 4bbl. Check for height first!
