According to THIS webpage the truck 8 3/4 is 7 inches wider than the a=body 8 3/4. You could run it as-is and simply move the spring perches, or pay to have the tubes and axles cut down and resplined and still move the spring perches. Take 3.5 inches off the tubes and axles on each side and I think you would be OK.

At 3.5" per side you could even have the old axles resplined. It takes a minimum of 3" per side before that is doable.
