which springs came factory in super six distributors? I found a pretty good curve with the 11.5 vc, 9r gov, and two light springs but I just wonder what came OEM???

setup...
14 initial
9R govenor (18 deg)
11.5 vac can (tuned with allen for no pinging and havent re measured vac)

OEM, is a heavy spring with a loop to allow the light spring to provide the governing spring rate up to about 14 degrees of advance before the heavy spring started applying it's force. I have found that in some cases (mostly lighter cars, that pulling the heavy loop spring and installing another light spring of similar rate provides a constant linear advance that is better for hi-po engines and is slow enough not to allow the pegs to slam off the end of the governor causing timing bounce during hard acceleration.

Ahhh haaa... that explains the erratic issues with one spring removed! I ended up with another light spring... Runs better than with the heavy looped spring this way... I think iv'e reached the stock limits of VT and weber 38. I WANT MORE! :twisted:
