Daaaang! Sounds like a great set of races. Congrats to all on some solid racing, and Ron for the big wins. Down to the wire! It will be nice to have the Natl trophy back East again.

Rodney did a great job with the races he attended, and I'm sure pushed Ron to the limit in competition.

Great season, everyone!

Lou

Yes we had a great weekend! Just a clarification, Denny was racing my car and it was my car that barfed something up at the big end. Not great, but no one was hurt and the car still looks good  It looks like #2 rod broke. But enough of that!

What a great race weekend for Ron. I told him early in the weekend, that I hoped that he either won both races or lost in the 1st round so the championship was settled decisively. And the race in the third round with Ron & Rodney has to be one of the best races in Slant 6 history. It was simply great. We were trying our best to be sure what Ron needed to do to claim the national championship, but we were not at all sure that we knew we were correct. In the end I said that both of these seasoned racers were going to do their absolute best to beat the other. And they would not have had it any other way. And just to make it a bit more nerve racking for both of them, when my car blowed up, they were both in the burn out area. Then they had to back out and wait 15 or 20 minutes while the cleaned up the mess on the track.
Nerves of steel anyone?

We had great food, fellowship and fun racing. The weather was great too. You guys that did not come, missed a wonderful end to a fabulous season of racing!

Congratulations to Ron & Kay, you earned this one!!!

As always there are a bunch of pictures of almost everyone's cars. Go to http://www.bandbphotos.smugmug.com/ and click on the Oct gallery. The photos are spread out all over from about page 40-the end. Rick

Well I did not really need that kind on congrats, but thanks anyway. This kind of blows my plans for dropping Mikes head on this engine and doing back to back tests.

Rick thanks to you and your family for putting on another great race at Mason Dixon. What a race! I know its a lot of work and we appreciate it. I'm sorry your engine broke, if there is a good thing about it, its that you have all winter to build another one.

Concerning the Championship, I do appreciate all the kind words I have received from everyone. It does mean a great deal to me.

Thanks Ron

Got it! Florescent pink! Safety Orange? No, wait, what color is your car? Bright Yellow!

Hmmm. Not a good idea. I'd end up with a Tyrde-Browne one.

Thanks for the pics guys! Been following the results - looks like a great time. Big Thanks to Rob Simmons for exposing me to Wilksboro/Farmington this year and permitting me my first pass. I will have to make Mason Dixon a goal. Slowing expanding the slant universe.
