So I bought a 85 d100 someone was screwin around with all the vacuum lines. Replaced and reconnected most of it but I have come across what i think is the charge temp sensor its been melted and its just hanging from the terminal ground and the main terminal line gonna get a new sensor but where in the hell does it screw into?

My Haynes Manual says "located on the intake manifold, near the carb" For the life of me I can not find the hole to put it in.( thats a first :) )

Photobucket link below for all the pics if you want more please ask please help

There's your problem; get a copy of a Chrysler Factory Service Manual for your vehicle.

I have used a Haynes & Chilton's (3 steps below Haynes) manuals when working on my 82 2.6l LeBaron, both were useless compared to following FSM I use for the Dart. Both manuals leave out a lot of detail, and leads one down the road to misadventure practically on the subject of emission vacuum line repairs. Both Haynes and Chilton's manuals cover several years of plumbing, and several models of vehicles. During the 80’s emission methods changed every year, sometimes several times in a model year (factory updates), until fuel injection was fitted. The only document that covers these changes is a FSM.

The air charge temp sensor screws into a hole on the #6 intake manifold runner next to the "vacuum tree" also located in the #6 intake runner.

Kudos to you for trying to fix all the emissions and lean-burn equipment. Most people chuck it all.

Reed is right! That looks like the "air charge temp sensor" does your intake manifold have two ports (holes) on the #6 intake runner?

If not, than it's not the original intake manifold but an older one with only one hole not designed for the air charge temp sensor...

FSM! I have a 82 B-2000 and the thin 82 FSM (only about 80 pages) covers EVERYTHING in that car down to taking the PB booster apart! They are usually nice and short because they tell you to "remove head" and dont start with "remove ground cable from battery, chock wheels, jack up front left wheel, remove inner splash shield....etc...etc..These are shop manuals written for professional mechanics, or about what you and I are for owning a slant in 2013! They can be had for ~$5 on Ebay. Just get your year as one or two off may not even apply to what you are working on, especialy emissions. my 82 is a Fed (sort of a 81 CA model) and the 82 CA vacuum diagram is about 3X what I got in my engine bay. running changes effect emissions on a monthly basis back in the smog days.
