Wow, you won't believe this - I ordered my choke kit from Carbs Only yesterday afternoon, at around 4:00 pm. I went out today at around 3:30 pm, and was surprised to find a box at my front door. Granted, I'm only about 60 miles south of Los Angeles, but that's still some amazing customer service, by both Carbs Only and our US Postal Service.

The slightly down side is that it was about $10 more than I was expecting. The unit was $54.95 + $4.95 tax + $10 shipping = $69.90

Can't wait to see how it works out.

Hi all,

Just wanted to report back that I got my new electric assist choke installed. Since I live in a mild climate, I adjusted it so it's not closed entirely, and so it will open a bit sooner. My previous choke didn't have the electric wire connected and, using my A/F Ratio gauge, I could see that it took 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 miles of driving before it would open all the way. The new choke begins opening (and, thus, leaning out the mixture) after driving just a few blocks. I feel this can't help but improve my miserable gas mileage, and also help to prevent fuel in my oil.

FYI- the choke should be adjust so that it closely lightly but fully when the motor is cold and the vacuum operated choke pull off should still pull the choke valve ROUGHLY 1/4 inch open immediately upon the engine starting. Otherwise, yes, the electric choke is a great improvement.
