Anyone know what diameter these would be? These are the numbers on the ends. Are they the 340 resto bars? What would be the numbers for the .920 and .990 bars? I am looking to upgrade my 72' a-body. Thanks.

The application for these bars are:

318 V-8 car with A/C
1973 340 cars and
1974-1976 360 cars...

Funny part about it is I have a set out of a 318 A/C car and my mics didn't notice a difference in diameter between them and the set of 890/891 slant-6/base V-8 bars lying next to them in my shed...

The 2535892 and 893 were originally for 4bbl V8 applications and
are .87" diameter - according to the Tom Condran book. And they
are the ones commonly refered to as the "340 bars".

There is a .89" bar from 383 V8 listed for Abody (2535894 and 895)

And a Mopar performance part offering .925" (P5249151) - sounds
like you would not want these unless you put a big block in your
a-body.

Thanks for the info guys. I am actually just trying to improve the handling of my 72' Swinger. I was considering the .920 bars for a 340/727 drivetrain that I have, but I think I am coming down with the slant sickness I've heard about on this forum. For now I think a front swaybar and some new KYB's, with the stock t=bars will give me the handling I'm after without too harsh a ride.

My source again is the book "Performance Handling for Classic Mopars"
by Tom Condran - I previously had a 340 duster - factory stock,
handling was good but not great. I have no other v8 vehicle experience.
Anyway the book recommends the .89" torsion bars for a 340 drivetrain
vehicle that will be driven on the street. The larger .92 torsion bars are recommended for big block setups.

The front sway bar bushings are mentioned as a good place to gain some
handling - update them with urethane bushings.

I am still reading this book and am finding it a great source of info.

i have the .890 bars in my /6 74 swinger now and it handles really good. im stepping up to the .920 bars this spring when the snow starts melting and i can get some work done. it might be overkill for some but i can hang with alot of corner carvers---now if i can get some more power, id be good.

I have .920" bars in my Dart and all is good! Great actually. I have no sway bar, but there is hardly any roll when cornering. I also have 5 leaf rear springs.
