So i am swapping the rear end in my 70 duster (7.25) with a newer 8.25 rear end. I got it at a swap meet so i dont know much about it. It fits under the car, and is the correct width, etc. I bought new 10" brakes for it, as that is what is listed for it, but now looking at it, it has 11" brakes on it. I see no listing for 11" for the 8.25 for this car, wondering if anyone knows if these came with 11", or what parts to get. Thinking maybe ordering Cordoba 11" drums from 78, should be same bolt pattern. any advice appreciated.

I bought a 1973 Duster 8 1/4" that came out of a 340 car, and it had the 11" drums on it, I've also spied some F-body rears that got the same setup...it should cross over to the cordoba or a Diplomat (1978/1979) on the 11" brakes.

That being said the 11" drums are extra weight that the A-body doesn't really need (I dumped the 11" for a set of late 10" drums off a 1974 LBP 7 1/4" rear...that makes it 50+lbs lighter...and the disc brakes lock before the rears which is how mopar wanted it to work)...so you may want to put a prop valve in place, the rears may lock before the fronts and with the larger drums that might not make for a good emergency stop down the road.

Chrysler was having parts supply problems during that time because of union strikes. There was a article on this in Mopar Action not too long ago. Alot of A-Bodies got the C-Body 11x2 rear brakes because of this. A Cop cars and taxi's too.Order brake for a 74 Dodge Monaco, that's what I did.
