Will the Bronze gear that Pentastar sells for the Hemi-6 fit the slant six?

The steel gear shows that it is suitable for either engine on the web site. Apparently they are on holiday for a couple more weeks. I was hoping to get in on the shipping offer they currently have. (However that comes out for international shipments.)

The bronze gear listed for the slant is listed for the Bosch distributor only, and the other bronze gear is listed for the Hemi-6 only.
It would make sense that the shaft size would be the same. Is there some other difference in the pitch or dimension of the gear that is different?

They're on ebay all the time from other vendors, just buy one from them and ask if they will fit the slant engine.

Got this along with "Use the search Luke!" from SSD! He must be watching movies this holiday season!

I'll get some of these gears coming, 'cause guess what? The billet cams are coming in! :D
More to follow in that thread!

If all that has to be done is ream the gear to match the shaft, that is what 99% of the Chevy guys have to do to swap bronze gears on their distributors, that's just standard procedure for running a roller cam.

Here's the gear im talking about CJ.

Interesting, on a search, they didn't show up.

Pentastar has free shipping this week. Not sure if it applies over here. I need to order a bunch of gears.

That was an ebay.au auction, not ebay USA.

After Ruster's Cam Gear/ Oil pump Gear/Distributor Gear Feeding Frenzy at clay city...

My dad, George had these made up:

They were made by a local Machine Shop Here in the Pittsburgh PA Area. He dropped this project off shortly before thanksgiving 2013, and Here it is January 2014 and they are done.

He had 2 Made at a cost of $225.00 Each...
Of course he footed the bill for the R/D and Prototyping etc.. THe Company now has this as a Cad File... For quicker turnarounds.

If the have a larger run the price will go down.. but If you just hafta have one of these bronze gears this is the way to go.

If you guys get a group buy together, contact Him (George) directly @
412-398-0206.. He does not use the forum and He does not use email , text on a phone, or a computer.. Phone is best. I am sure he will be happy to do the legwork for and compile the orders for you. With enough interest (hopefully) a better Price is in the future too.

I have one and no I am not selling it.

Greg

Dang, that's pretty. I would be in for maybe a couple if a group buy could be put together and the price could be brought down.

I got in on the Holiday shipping deal with Pentastar, though "shipping" still shows on the invoice. By the amount charged, it looks like just the export tax. Four gears, $227. Two showed up yesterday. Came over on a Bunker-Burner apparently.

I can live with that.

Doc shipped me two Bronze OP drive gears, for a slight consideration, which will be going into Dave Mueller's engine. I understand Doc still has a couple, and the Cox brothers may have some left over.
