1964 Dart GT is my Daily Driver. 182,000 miles when I bought it.(it had sat in a field for 7 years) I rebuilt the engine(stock), rebuilt the 904 automatic transmission, put on New (KYB) shocks all the way around, replaced all brake parts on original 9" Drums (switching to 12" Disc on front in the next month and LBP 7 1/4 rear end), the suspension needs to be rebuilt soon, and that is my next Big Project (lots of other little ones!)
Other than the 9" Drum Brakes, I would not have any fear driving this car anywhere.

First you need basic wrenches, sockets and ratchets. Need screw drivers, feeler gauges and most important your correct Factory Service Guide.

Thing to maintain:

Carburetor
1. Air/Fuel Ratio
2. Fast Idle Speed
3. Curb Idle Speed
Choke
Heat Riser Shaft
Engine Oil and Filter Change
Transmission Kickdown
Transmission Bands
Brakes
Cooling
Belts
Ball Joints & Tie Rod Ends
Bushings & Shock Absorbers
Hinges, Locks and Latches

If you have an FSM you get a table of maintenance in Chapter 0. But If not I believe maintenance tables are the same for later years.

Go ahead and save that weird car, the sedan, the 6 cylinder, the C-Body. If you want a big block musclecar and that's all you care about, your missing the point.
