Trying to get a handle on when Valiants and Lancers went from 13" wheels and 4" bolt circles to 14" wheels with 4.5" patterns.Suggestions on how to make the change from 13s to 14s on my '62 Lancer.??

There are 14" small bolt pattern wheels which fit fine. Everything '72 and older is small bolt pattern. Only '73 and newer disc brake cars are big bolt pattern. My '73 drum brake Duster and '72 disc brake Duster both had small bolt pattern 14" wheels.

I don't think 14 inch rims became standard until 70 at the earliest. 14 inch rims could be had as part of a performance package earlier, but base rims were 13 inches through at least 69.

Josh nailed it on the bolt pattern. My brother's 74 was a drum brake car and it had 14 inch small bolt pattern rims.

Here is a set of 4 14" sbp wheels listed on Craigslist near Columbus Ohio. The ad doesn't specify bolt pattern but I talked with the seller yesterday. He said he would take $150. Not sure if he will ship.

My opinion: Forget the tires, they are too old, and not safe, to use on the road. They would also ad to shipping cost. Ask to see some pics of the wheels, without the hubcaps.

Just to be clear, I have nothing to do with this craigslist ad. It is simply coincidence that I had called about the ad yesterday, and now this question is posted today. I was going to buy the wheels to resell, but decided that at $150, the price was too high for me. If I remember correctly, I think there is another set of 4 for sale on the forabodiesonly site.

I agree that the tires are of no use and should not be used. I asked for pics without wheel covers and was sent these:
