is the engine wiring harness on my 74 /6 duster the same or comparable to the harness on a v8 on said vehicle?

I would say they are very close if not the same with a few exceptions.
I have owned and worked on my 75 and 75 Valiants and I have the factory service manuals. The wiring for S6 or V8 is the same with the exception of the engine harness which plugs into the main harness. Sometimes there are also some differences depending on which output alternator was used. This is mainly the main wire from the alternator to the battery.
