i have a T, have the brake line. trying to find something that i can screw into the oil pump and the T. gonna use a compression fitting from the T to the brake line. just for ease of installation. might use a regular brake fitting dont know yet i have both. my trouble is just going from the 3/4 inch hole in the oil pump to the T designed for 3/16" line. also the fitting that i have in there now for the oil pressure gauge is a different thread then what i have in the T. what a pita. ill figure it out. need to take a trip to home depot or something like that. the narrow selection my local advanced auto parts has isnt quite cutting it.
You definitely need the fitting selection at a Hardware store; don't waste your time at an auto parts store; their coverage is too limited...

didnt get my fittings yet. work has been slow, dont have the money right now to get them. mocked up my cold side and it went pretty well for a while.

<img src="http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p79/weesers1/IMG_20140402_190154_058_zps1f63acef.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_20140402_190154_058_zps1f63acef.jpg"/>

then i tried to shut my hood. didnt go so well. cut out the support.

<img src="http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p79/weesers1/IMG_20140402_190408_440_zps73f02e20.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_20140402_190408_440_zps73f02e20.jpg"/>

still not enough.

<img src="http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p79/weesers1/IMG_20140402_190316_382_zps67e872e8.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_20140402_190316_382_zps67e872e8.jpg"/>

looks like im gonna be in the market for a hood scoop. or just not run a hood. not quite sure yet. either way the whole sleeper thing is out the window. im thinking either a hemi scoop or the earlier 60's max wedge or something like that. hopefully some more parts will come in tomorrow and ill have something to do.

What's wrong with a 3/8"-NPT to 1/4"-NPT bushing in the oil pump followed by a 1/4" nipple and 1/4" T? The oil line adapter to the gauge should aready be 1/4"-NPT. All you would then need is a 1/4"-NPT to inverted flare adapter for the hard line to the turbo.

The local Car Quest has a real nice selection of brass fittings. They have a tee with one end a Male outlet and the other 2 female. That eliminates a nipple and keeps it kind of short if that helps.

That's a nice offer, and I appreciate it!

You're right; we have all the time-consuming work done, and are down to "tuning," a job in itself...

I just bought a new O2 sensor for our F.A.S.T. wideband A/F meter, as the other sensor had been exposed to lead, and was no longer accurate. If we can get this mixture to around 11.5 under boost, we'll be on our way to some test and tune drag-strip runs at 10 pounds of boost, and if that works out, who knows??? :twisted:

Talk's cheap... we'll see!

Bill

oh man murphy was with me today. everything that could bust my balls did. i let the epoxy cure over night and went to put the pump back in and the epoxy gave out and the line was loose. wasnt gonna do that twice so i drilled out the pump and screwed in a compression fitting for the brake line i was using. didnt get a pic because my phone was charging but it worked out pretty sweet. went to weld in my o2 bung and didnt have a 3/4 inch drill bit for the hole. that took quite a while with a 1/2 inch drill bit then a carbide bit to grind out the rest. got it welded in without much trouble. made some bracing for my turbo/jpipe. welded my vise grips to the piece i was welding and welded them shut. took a pic after i got them off.
<img src="http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p79/weesers1/IMG_20140409_134242_771_zpsb2b54bbc.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_20140409_134242_771_zpsb2b54bbc.jpg"/>
cleaned it slapped some paint on it and bolted it in. without the bracket i could grab the turbo and it would flex the pipe with moderate effort. now it doesnt budge what so ever.
<img src="http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p79/weesers1/IMG_20140409_140916_299_zps26177bdc.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_20140409_140916_299_zps26177bdc.jpg"/>
<img src="http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p79/weesers1/IMG_20140409_140952_654_zps4d2577c4.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_20140409_140952_654_zps4d2577c4.jpg"/>
also ran some hoses for boost referencing the pump, vacuum/boost to the bov. took my carb off to get the piece of plastic that i cut off of my o2 sensor wiring out of the intake. ran the wires for the o2 sensor. ran the tubing for my boost gauge. also adjusted my hood to close with the carb hat on. im not thrilled with the look of the back of the hood sticking up but it works, barely. finished my cold side.
<img src="http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p79/weesers1/IMG_20140409_134334_965_zps4fb84bd0.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_20140409_134334_965_zps4fb84bd0.jpg"/>
still need to get the fittings for the oil feed, figure out adjusters for my headlights so i can put them back in, figure out where im gonna tap the cold side for the boost gauge, dig up the lean burn distributor i have somewhere and put it in and get some flex piping to get the exhaust out of the engine bay. not a whole lot left to do. im sure im forgetting something but ill figure it out when the time comes. thats all for now. ill probably get to it some time over the weekend.

lol dont be ashamed. im alot younger and the stuff im doing is alot easier then the road you guys took. not to mention yours will probably last alot longer then mine. besides it looks like you guys are there, nothing left to do but reap the benefits of alot of hard work. in the event that we ever make it to the same race then a shaming may be in order but i doubt you will be the one receiving.

im also on a bit of a time crunch. i have a race coming up on may 18th that i try to make every year. my local drag strip hosts the Philadelphia Modifiers. its a classic car club. they do the yesteryear drags. its all 1974 and older cars. its usually a good time. there is one guy there that wins every year that i would really like to stand a chance against. his reaction time is ridiculously consistent and his car is as well. he is also really good at playing the numbers. i needed a faster car to be able to play with him so ill see how my jalopy works out. im hoping i can get my pile of parts together and tuned well enough not to blow up and make some passes. with any luck ill get it to a test and tune in the next couple weeks. cant wait to drop a few seconds off my ET. best i got with the setup im my signature (minus the hyperpac, had a offenhauser shorty intake on) was a 17.76@72mph. im really hoping for mid-low 13's. also hoping my tranny holds together for a little while.
