In the 80s my brother-in-law had the only one of these I have ever seen also, 440-727 on the collum, flat black primer,(originally buffed silver) bench interior. One mean looking machine.

He traded it for a 65 GTO, regretted the decision a couple of days later and caught hell from his wife for the trade and tried to get it back, but the new owner had skipped town with the better deal!

you know, if I was a sheetmetal guy and had tons of cash, I might have taken it on. The quarters were just so rotten though! I tried calling a few places asking for quarters for that car, hard top as well, no one had any or could even take an order because by all accounts it was impossible to find a set. The car had the auto trans and slant six motor. Burgundy with pristine vinyl interior.

My brother-law bought his new in Phoenix as his welcome back from Vietnam present, he was telling me for the $3600 price (with military discount) he had his choice of a new Charger equiped with the 440 or a Hemi powered one the dealer had just repossessed! No wonder he kicks himself, all of lifes decisions should be this complicated.

There's someone in south FL that has a '66 or '67 for sale. It's a Coronet Deluxe, WL21, 225/904, radio and heater delete. Little ragged, but runs and not rusty.
A pal of mine has a '67 Plymouth version, a RL21 Belvedere I, 318/904. He was going to put a 440 in it, till he found a Hemi for sale 5 miles from his house.
I like the sedans. They make for a stronger chassis and are a little lighter than a hardtop.

they made tons of them...everybody hated them for years.now everybody loves them...they were usually slant sixes w three on the tree bone basic stock no option vehicles....one of the reasons mopar was able to offer them at such a reasonable "advertised price"...but most buyers spent a little more to get the v8 and auto trans, radio,p.s p.brakes,etc........
