I have heard mechanics say inject grease until it squeezes out. I have heard other mechanics say inject grease just until the boot bulges. It seems sometimes water comes out with the grease. I would think seeing the grease squeeze out is a good thing, but wish to hear other's thoughts here.

Also, what kind of grease are folks using these days. I started using Mobile One synthetic, but there are all kinds of heavy duty farm equipment, and truck grease cartridges available. What are the pros and cons on this and any other issue involving greasing the front end of these cars. I know my car always rides smoother right after a grease job. I always spray the sway bar bushings with penetrating grease as well.

Thanks, Sam

I use the moly (black stuff) grease.

I add until I see the boot swelling.

I add grease until is spills out. I have been getting synthetic grease from Castrol or Mobil 1 lately. It is now almost all Multi purpose for both bearings and knuckles, which is annoying, but if I can find the knuckle-specific stuff I buy that. I also look for moly (black) grease.

Thanks guys. This may seem like a small thing, but when you stand at the shelf looking at 18 different types of grease you can feel a little dumb.
