I really like this styling with all the black. Are you going black with the tailstripe too?

Cleaned up the engine compartment. I need to wait another week or two before adding the stripe and wax. Otherwise, it is done. It becomes my regular daily driver.

Doing a nice job on that Scamp!
The blue engine color looks real good, wish I could get that color from 3 of the recent cans I bought. I've mentioned the brand in another post. I've never had problems getting the correct color until about 6 months ago! Questionable QC.

Please don't wax it! If you have fresh paint, wax is the quickest way to ruin it, especially since paint takes longer than you realize to cure. Once you wax a car, you can't stop, or your paint will never have the shine it once did. Just my opinion, as it isn't my car.

Are you recommending to Never wax it? I was going to give the base-coat clear-coat 4 weeks to cure before waxing.

Another member called my attention to this '72 Scamp on Ebay. The only differences (besides the engine) are the vinyl/paint top, tinted windows, wheels, grill color, bumperetts, and the stripe. My color looks slightly different as the base/clear coat of the same paint recipe looks a little different. For the first time, I'm beginning to wonder about the tail stripe? Any opinions?

Check with your painter. If I remember right, mine told me to wait 6 months, but that was several years ago.

Personally, I would leave the tail stripe off. (Though personally, I would also remove the beauty rings. And then I would...touch nothing else, your car is beautiful! You nailed the look.)
