Lil tip with the bypassed eatons...you can place a bolt and jam nut under the actuator arm and set the bypass to set boost anywhere you need if it is a overdriven pulley arrangement

That is cool, but not as cool as a blown slant. My brother agrees- we are definitely going to pursue a supercharger for his Duster. I just need to teach myself how supercharging affects things like timing curves and fuel mixture parameters. Then I need to get the pieces and machine and assemble it all. On as cheap a budget as possible!
Yeah the slant six is cool , does not kick out 1500HP like the Hemi , but also does not cost 40 grand like the RayBarton Hemi either.

I bet the hemi doesn't get 28 MPG on the highway, and honestly, how often can you responsibly use the 1500 horsepower? A blown slant can be driven and enjoyed every day.

I know what I would rather own.

You are correct the Hemi burns some gas, but anyone that is a real car guy would love to take the 1500HP for a spin just for fun! That is what it is all about, I know this is a slant six forum, but if I had to choose? I would tilt towards the Hemi. But My wallet says slant six on this project.

Would you be willing to share part numbers for the parts used in modifying the blower and the new pulley?

Thanks for sharing all this with us!

I purchased an m90 rebuild kit from ebay, from Kaman bearing I ordered the 17x24x5 double lip seals and 17x24x20 open needle bearings, for the idler pulley I also purchased bearings from Kaman as well as the pullies, I then machine the pullies for the drive snout.

To run the open bearings would depend on how you wanted to mount the carb and the rear plate.

when I take it off to upgrade or service I will shoot some pics.

Horsepower is horsepower. Too much is never enough.

I really like your project here. Having trouble resisting going to E-Bag now.

A little update, I made a smaller pulley and the boost is right about 10lbs. also fabricated a chrome valve cover from the early style head onto this 84 headed engine.

VERY NICE JOB MATT!! Please keep the info coming. And please post a video. I'd love to hear it run. Curious though does the 1bbl intake do anything to increase velocity of the charge or something? I don't know a thing about forced induction. I'm just wondering if the 1bbl intake has an advantage over the other intakes (ie 2bbl, Alum 4bbl, etc). Again thanks for sharing.

Is there any difference between a GM M-90 and a Ford? I see both on E-Gag. :D

Wouldn't it be easier to tune with a throttlebody fuel injection setup, with an O2 sensor to auto adjust the mixture?

I've seen a couple with throttle body already installed. You'd need a computer, etc to run it, but wouldn't that get you better mpg too?

I mean, I guess I am paranoid that I'd end up lean on the mixture.. Burning a piston after all that work is not my idea of fun..

Not if you know what you are doing, some people have issues with boost and carbs, some do not, In no way would making all the electronics, sensors and fuel pump issues be easier than setting up a carb. I currently have over 5000 miles on this set up with the two barrel and 2500 when I ran the one barrel.

I am getting almost 30mpg if I keep my foot out of it.

Thats why I like a color tune. I don't have one to fit a slant though but I have them for other toys. I may look into seeing if they have one to fit the slant.
