Hey everyone newbie to the site. Can anyone give me the dimensions on a 225 /6? Please?. Been wanting another /6 for years since my 80 4 speed /6 ramvan. I found a good 76 /6 with 73k miles on it an a 727 tranny for 150 bucks. So now's the time to build the rampage the way I want it. I already have a Weber 32/36 Carb an a extra 2.2 turbo. Can anyone help me out with any info?

Much-much easier to find a turbo 2.2 or other FWD engine and trans.

Length is 32-1/2" with the fan. Might squeeze down to 30 without, still running the stock pump and pulley.

Height is a bit over 23-3/4" to the top of the valve cover. Your carb and other bits for a turbo make it difficult to say for top of the hat. Depends on how your going about it.

Width stock is 17 and some change. That's for the stock manifolds. Your application will be different.

Your firewall has to move. I don't think the 727 is going to fit in there without some heavy chopping there and in the tunnel.

This would be an ambitious project! :D I would think it would be similar to 'Zilla's tube frame Daytona. I don't know the dimensions of the Rampage specifically.

CJ

PS: I'd consider selling the 727 to somebody that needs one and go with an A904 for a performance build. The 904 takes a bunch less power to operate, and weighs less. It's plenty tough with minimal prep. The 727 is tough as nails, and appropriate to a truck that's towing or loaded heavy. Not really needed behind the slant.

FWIW; I put a slant and 904 into an '81 Mitsu/Challenger. Yes, as Ceej said, the firewall has to move, or at least be reformed for the rear 2 cylinders. I was able to plant the slant on the original 4-banger frame brackets by modifying a pair of slant engine brackets, but only slightly. I then moved the radiator in front of the rad support, and ran an electric fan. I do still have a lot of details to work out, but it has made four, time only passes down our local 1/4 mile.

Your biggest problem is that you want to turn a front wheel drive car into a front engine/rear drive vehicle, so you have to build some reasonably strong mounting points in back for a rear axle mount. The easiest way would be to go with leaf springs, and add crossmembers where needed for the spring mounts. You might be able to get away with using the original rear suspension mounting points, but I haven't had the opportunity to look under one, so really don't know how it's configured.

Good luck, (or rather skill), and post pics.

Roger

The notch has always been a V8 and I am not changing it over.

This is before the paint had been completely buffed out. Only good shot I have of it.

I think that folks associate the Drake Name with Really Fast / Boosted Slant Cars.. I hope to see yours or one of you family's Cars back at a slant race sometime.

All the best!

Greg
