Limited clearance will prevent you from ever coming close to stupid wide. LOL
Someone will chime in on a few tire sizes that one can squeeze up under an A Body fender. My 67 has 205/60x14, and nothing rubs.
Another limiting factor will be availability of 13, 14, and 15 inch tires; there ain't much choice out there in tire land for these little doughnuts any longer in these days of giant wheels.
I'm going to amen availability statement above, if you don't mind 250 bucks per tire, the restoration tire companies have a larger selection even bias ply, glass belted, and wide ovals.
