Today I noticed if I push down on the front of my 71 dart the front suspension will make a squeek/ creek. Almost like a creeky door or floor. Is this normal? The shocks have about 20000 miles on them with quite a bit of bumpy dirt road miles. Ball joints have about 13000 miles on them and upper control bushings have about 10000. Lower ball joints have not been done. And I have air shocks in the back and after driving the pressures are off on each side and the car sits lower on the left. Is there a easy fix for that?

When was the last grease job?

Driving on dirt roads require more frequent chassis lube, and air filter changes. Spring time dirt roads with a lot of wet material splashing up onto all the front suspension joints is particularly troublesome as that muck can find its way into every joint.

What shape are the lower control arm bushings? Squeaks are usually caused by (dry) metal to metal contact. It could be that things need a grease gun- should be done 1-2 times a year, but everything should be checked for wear & looseness.

It's been a while since any grease. I'll go through and do it all next week.
