No major updates, but I did install the 1" wheel adapters in the rear and it made a HUGE difference...I love the look! It now matches the front very well. I also stopped at my favorite photo shoot spot on the way home from my parents house and took a picture.

Man, sometimes I hate Photobucket...stupid bandwidth crap. Anyways, I fixed the "oil issue"...it ended up being a faulty oil pressure sending unit and replaced it with a new one. No more dummy light coming on! Now I just gotta get my custom gauge cluster made and install my new gauges so I can get rid of the dummy light and have accurate gauges.
I cleaned the truck up lastnight and I'm ready to take the truck on its first long-ish jorney of the year to Minneapolis for MAP's "Boost for Boobies". Its a car show/dyno day and all the proceeds to breast cancer. Good cause and should be a good time! Just gotta re-torque the wheel spacers and should be good to go! I'm driving down with a convoy so I wont be alone if, God forbid, something happens.

Well this weekend was a good one for the slant six world! I decided to tear down the '69 225 engine I have on the stand and check the rod and main bearings (all were perfectly good) and get it ready to install into the truck so I could take out the factory '77 225 and rebuilt it for the turbo setup.

Then I did something I shouldn't have...surfed the Craigslist ads when I woke up this morning. Came across someone that was selling their Super Six 225 out of an '80 Dodge Aspen. They said it ran good and was asking $100...I got it for $75 delivered to my house...for a complete Super Six engine! I now decided that I'm going to get the '69 engine put back together with swapping the head off my original '77 engine and installing my current Super Six intake and Carter 2bbl (which happens to be freshly rebuilt by the guy I bought the parts from who sent it out to Holley) and put that into the truck and drive it like that until I can get time to rebuilt the newly-purchased '80 Super Six 225 engine for the turbo build. In the next pictures, the '69 engine is on the stand and the new '80 Super Six engine is on the engine hoist.

And this is the Super Six setup that will be installed on the '69 engine before being put in the truck.

I finally picked up my seats...again...this time I bought a pair of seats from a friend of mine. They're out of a Hyundai Tiburon GT. They are super comfy and very sporty-looking. I love 'em!

Well I think I definitely found the color I want to paint my truck. It's called Jaded Green from Eastwood Company. Kevin Tetz (from the show Trucks! on Powerblock TV) re-did a 1966 Mustang using all Eastwood products and this color is absolutely beautiful! I just got a paint chip book from Eastwood in the mail yesterday and the color is gorgeous when the sun hits all the metallics! And not to copy Kevin's theme, but I'm thinking very hard on using the same Tunnel Ram Gray that he used on the Mustang on a few things on the truck as well. Here's a few pics of the 'Stang:

I also got a swatch ring from YourAutoTrim.com with all of the available houndstooth pattern colors for the upholstery, and the green matches very well with the Eastwood paint color. Not exact, but definitely close enough!
Image

Now I'm not going to go super crazy with the houndstooth upholstery...just incorporate it a bit into the seat center inserts and door panels. Nothing overbearing. The seats will also have dark gray double stitching to tie in the Tunnel Ram Gray paint into the interior...maybe even paint a few accents on the dash with Tunnel Ram as well. The truck is a LOOOOONG way from getting any sort of repaint done, but nothing wrong with planning ahead!

Nothing too much to add as of right now and probably for a while because now I'm saving as much money as I can to put a down payment on a new Dodge Dart for a nice daily. I'm thinking a 1.4 turbo or 2.4 and with a 6-speed manual. If you're gonna go slow, might as well be in control of those gears!

Anyways, I decided to clean the garage and get stuff sorted out since I will be moving to another house with a bigger garage. As soon as I cleaned it, I unbolted the Borla muffler, and when I did I heard a rattling in the exhaust...I hit the bottom of the cat converter and sure as $#!+, all of the insides are busted up, so I hacked that off, threw on one of my Magnaflow glasspacks and called it good for now. Sounds absolutely incredible! I love it! For people who said having a glasspack on a slant six is annoying, you must have done something wrong. It is not super loud at all, and sounds very nice! I will try to get a sound clip of it sometime within the next week or 2.

+1 on glasspacking the slant. I don't think it's annoying at all. When I had the exhaust shop dump the muffler and weld one in, the guy pulled it off the lift, hit the gas and said "it's still quiet." It is just audible now is all.

Yep. I dont have a tach in my truck (yet) but when I hit 30-35 mph under load, she sounds pretty nasty. It might be a little on the louder side due to no cat, but its by no means unbearable. Cruising between 65-75 its audible but not annoying. I really like it! I just cant wait to get my other 225 put back together, paint it up nice and drop it in...should be a nice and noticeable difference with the Super Six 2bbl on it :)

Recently I moved a few things over to the new house (renting from another friend at a different place with $100/month cheaper rent and I get the entire garage to myself...WIN-WIN!), which consisted of the Tiburon bucket seats, my audio parts, exhaust parts, the box fans for when I'm using solvent-based products in the garage, my grilles and '72 lower valance, and the Super Six engine I'm using for my turbo build that I bought for $75 a few months ago. I had to snap a few pictures of the truck trying out her new home :)

And here's a few pictures of the truck with the engine/engine hoist in the rear. I took these so I could see how I liked the "leveled-out stance" look and to be honest, I think I like the little rake it has better.

How much boost do you plan on running on the 80 motor?

Well I have a little update...

My friend Shaun re-did my exhaust since it kept falling off. I would have liked it to be a double side-exit, but the fuel tank on the driver's side made that a bit difficult. This is just temporary until I can get a new bumper put on. I'm actually most likely going to go with 60's/70's Chevrolet bumpers since I cannot find a late 80's-early 90's Ramcharger rear bumper. I also got a new "beater", a 2002 Chrysler 300M Special. SUPER clean car and very well maintained.

Now some major bad news...
Yeah, now I have to look for a new frame, but I guess that isnt all terrible news. This means that this bump in the road will actually kick-start the restoration process! I will source out a new frust-free frame, sand blast and paint it with POR15, pull the cab and box off the current frame, fix the floors on the cab, then swap everything over to the new frame. Then all that is needed is body work. I think that sounds like a good idea to me. The downside is that it will make the truck pretty much un-driveable for quite a while.

You Could always Keep it square and weld in some patches.

My Frame on My truck is Still somehow solid.. But It's getting thin Behind the Gas tank.

Also Have you Looked On LMC truck for that Bumper?/ They actually now have 72-93 Mopar Stuff.
