I have been driving an 83 D150 slant since Feb 2014. Just recently idle speed dropped and began getting sluggish and stalling when warm. Believe carb is holley 1945 1bl. Fuel/air screw missing and cant figure out if that is the only prob. When stalls, seems like its choking itself out. Also has a lot of run-on (dieseling effect) not sure what else to do besides rebuild. Don't know settings for carb.

Does it have the lean burn stuff still on it?

Are you sure it isn't just hidden behind the factory concealment plug?

Dieseling is usually a timing problem.

I second the question "Does it have the lean burn stuff still on it?" A failed lean burn system can cause exactly the symptoms you describe.

Positive. The idle mixture screw and cap are not present. Not sure what size. been driving it since Feb and had occasional run-on but now more so. Distributer is tight (hadn't been touched)

When truck runs for about 10 minutes it sputters out and is hard to start. must sit b4 starting again
