Hey guys,

Who has good torsion bars for a 66 Dart /6 225 daily driver? I'm clueless as to where to order them from as the prices (and probably the quality) vary widely.

I'm thinking the .890" diameter ones.

PST's torsion bars are WAY overpriced. You can get Mopar Performance torsion bars in any size from Mancini Racing: http://www.manciniracing.com That's where I got my .920" torsion bars for my Dart.

So which diameter is best for a daily driver? Car is a 1966 Dart GT with a /6 225. Many of the other posts about torsion bars deal with V8s and racing. I just want a good ride.

I have the 0.870" torsion bars (340/360 spec) on my '66. Compared to some modern cars I've driven, the ride is actually on the soft side. Of course, it does have some noise, vibration, and harshness quirks that modern cars don't. But I am pretty sure I could go up one size to 0.890" without it being harsh, although if it's a cruiser and not a handler I'm not sure why you would want to.

I'd say go with 0.890" bars and you'll be happy with handling and ride. Manciniracing.com have them pretty cheap too.

If you're feeling cheap .870's from the yard are pocket change and are up to the job. Personally, i'd step up to .890's for more control.
If mancini is close to ya go there, if you're on the left coast hit up firm feel in washington. If you've got a good dealer near you walk in and ask for 'em at the parts counter. Just be sure to ask for the super-secret JYH pricing schedule. The magical words "racer net" seems to work as well.
