Do any of you have any experience with the Crane Cam XR700 or XR3000 Optically Triggered Ignition Systems? I believe -0226 is the version for the Slant Six stock distributor.

I think the XR700 is the one I put on my 68 Dart points distributor around 1990. It never worked, probably due to a phasing issue that I never sorted out. Idled fine, but when advance started to kick in it missed and bucked drastically. I went to Mopar electronic after that, then MSD controlled by a Mopar dist.

I have been very happy with my Pertronix conversion. No trouble from day one, and I've run as fast as 13.67 with that car and revved it to 6000 RPM.

Not one of those units, but I did run the electronic conversion they offer for the Ford 390 I had... That was a really nice piece and installed just like a pertronix unit, but also had a built in rev-limiter wich was nice when the throttle return spring snapped off on me lol... Dont think they offer a kit for the slants unfortunately but havnt looked in a couple years.
