How do you remove the power steering pump pulley. I have used 3 diffrent pullers and it endend in a trashed pulley.

There is two types of pulleys one has a nut that holds the pulley on the shaft, the other has a allen socket that holds.

If it's a Saginaw without the nut then it's a press fit. I used to remove these with a dedicated puller (grips the flange on the hub, not the sheet metal pulley) supplemented with a large C-clamp to keep the two puller jaws from separating and an electric impact wrench.

Looked like this: Image

There are better pullers available than that any more.

Last weekend on the power nation series, I think either the muscle car edition or engine show, show that exact problem, not using a regular pulley but a special dedicated one that you rent, and they used an cordless impact wrench too.
