I am back, I think!
I sold my Valiant a while ago. Bad move! I miss it!
I am probably going to look at a 1965 4 door Plymouth Belvedere II sedan.
It has a slant, with an auto.
I guess that would be a 225? I think it said online 145HP, unless I am wrong?
Is there any specific areas I should look at for rot...etc.?
Thanks in advance. I miss having a Mopar, and a slant.... :(

If the engine's stock it'll be a 145hp 225, but a lot can happen in 40+ years.

A quick way to check is to look at the bypass hose between the water pump and the head. If it is so short the clamps are almost touching it's a 170. If there is about an inch and a half between the two clamps it's a 225. (Or a 198, but that's unlikely.)

Congrats on the find, be sure to post pics!

Thank you! I am still waiting. Ugh!!
I emailed the guy on the craiglist, three times now.
His number is not posted, and he lives close.
No return phone call yet. I really want to see this car badly.
I am wondering if Greg knows who it is. He lives near us.
He must not be checking his email.

That's a nice looking car, hope it works out for you.

Sometimes it's hit and miss when you email through craigslist. Your email provider's anti-spam software won't let responses come through and you won't know it. I've found that if I can't get to a seller I'll try again with another email address. Sometimes it helps to change the subject line a little too.

It honestly does. I cannot get a reply back from him.
I emailed quite a few times. I wished he had his number posted. It has been 6 days. It may be sold, and he didn't remove the ad. I dunno...

Not to worry. There are other nice slants out there. If you get it, great, if not, keep looking. I see around here from time to time. Recently there was a very low mileage Duster for sale for around 5 K. I mean very low. It was something like 15K miles and looked show room new.

Your right, there are others out there. This was in my area. I was hoping Greg on the board here knew who he was. I just really liked the look of that car.

I GOT THE CAR!!!!!! He called, and said some guy looked at it last week, and had to think it over. And asked him to wait!!!
I told him I was close. I didn't realize how close.
He lived three minutes up the street. I never saw the car, it was in his garage.
I looked at it, VERY clean underneath. No rot at all! Just needs cleaned up good.
Just some bondo work someone before him did on the lower sides in the back. But i can fix that.
It drives perfect. Just at idle, smells like fuel out the tailpipe, running very rich. Just at idle! Like a slight sputter.
Might need the carb rebuilt. But runs smooth soon as you give it gas. I am so happy.
I uploaded photos to my photobucket, so I didn't overload this post with pictures. Here's my photos! I am officially smiling!!!.... :D

Thank you! I know this sounds stupid, but I think its a 225.
I have to take a closer look.
It even has the original owners manual in the glove box!

Awesome, congrats! That car is in nice shape, looks like it hasn't seen a lot of use over the years. A keeper for sure!

When you tinker on the carb replace that fuel filter too, it looks pretty nasty.

'65 would have had a red engine so that one's been either replaced or repainted some time in its past.

It appears to be very untouched. Theres 93,000 on it.
Yeah, I bought a new filter on the way home...LOL
Is there numbers somewhere on the engine that I can use to identify with?
He said he bought it from an older fellow down the street. Even pointed to his house.
