What is the material that was used in my engine compartment to prevent road grime from coming up through the wheel wells?

During my front suspension rebuild all of the material disintegrated and now needs to be replaced. I just dont have a clue what to use.

Does not have to be an exact replacement, just something that will cover up those opening.

Thanks

After 1978 or so, Mopar put plastic front inner fender linings in all their cars. You can find something at the Junk Yard that will protect all the metal, including the fenders. I got mine from a 79 New Yorker parts car I had for awhile.

I fastened them in with nylon screws, but you could use the standard plastic push-in connectors used these days.
