Anyone used a 1/2inch Breaker Bar to open their rear differential to check the oil level?
When my mechanic and I look at the rear differential we see a star-shaped indented cap that needs to be removed. My mechanic said his Dad used to have the exact star-shaped tool that would fit into it, but he can't find it.
I asked a friend who lives faraway and can't help me here, and he told me that he's used a 1/2" Breaker Bar, and that it fits right in there, and is supported evenly by the starpoint shapes, and that it can be used to unscrew the cap and check the oil.
Has anyone else done this? Does it work well without ruining everything?
(Or does anyone know who has the correct star shaped tool in the Bay Area that I might ask for help from?)

Yes it only takes a breaker bar. Make sure it is seated all the way in the plug before you try to break it loose.

So I guess I'll give it a try.
I contacted an old friend with a '63 Dart and he said:
"Photos show My ( 1963 Dart Milestone car ) Differential Plug to be as
yours is described ( see below ) a 1/2 Inch Extension fits right in
nice and tight so all those 1/2 inch tools will also fit and work."
