Found out the hd slants in trucks some of the. Came with a 11in flywheel and the parts store only lists a 10in so I did a little research and found out that the raised diaphragm pressure plate with 11in clutch for 318 v8 ( gotta look it under such) and she'll bolt right up and work like a dream idk if this has been said but I've wasted about 3 days because of this mix up so just throwing it out there for anyone who may be doing the same job

For some reason the parts store computer catalogs are not accurate, and the cut off seems to be at about 1983 for the 11" clutch/low starter option seen in the D-150's....Be careful with your choice as the small blocks got the 10.5" clutch which will not bolt up to the 11" clutch bolt patterns...I asked for a 1971 383-2 barrel 11" clutch for the conversion I was doing and it bolted up and fit with out a hitch (if you need new pressure plate bolts you can pull them off the performance shelf at the parts store as they are the same as the big block chevy bolts...on the earlier 11" flywheels there is a dual pattern and you can use either clutch, these flywheels though use the 9 tooth direct drive starter and have a fine pitched starter gear ring like the the early hemi flywheel and are not compatible with the reduction gear 10 tooth starter or the late mini-starter without a starter gear conversion.

FYI.
