Those slugs you're talking about - I used to have all over the place. They're about the size of a quarter, and you'd have to kick the galvanization off of them or you'd gas yourself when you weld on it. Quarter is the same size I'd say. But you're right - it would be more work, and it's not like anyone's going to see it.

im gonna hold off on the new power valve. the race is sunday and the car is running strong. dont really wanna fix something that isnt broken. boost is up to 14psi. the tires dont know what to do now. it spins them when it spools in 1st and 2nd. 3rd really sets me back in the seat. im hoping they prep the track really well. drilled out the pvcr two more sizes and the jets two more to match. afr's are pretty good. might take the main jet up a size or two more. its to the point now that im going to fast to be able to test it on the street now. dont wanna get a ticket or worse. gonna bring my drill bit set to the track with me. i get a couple shakedown runs before the race. ill get it dialed in. its pretty close but im looking for spot on. i would be surprised if im not at my goal of 13's. im just so happy with the way this thing is running, all i have to do is think about it and it brings a smile to my face.

so made it to the track. got three runs in, 2 time trials and an first round of elimination. car was running good, really good. was 63* at the track today.
<img src="http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p79/weesers1/20141005_214628_zpszpdxpa05.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20141005_214628_zpszpdxpa05.jpg"/>

first run i spun off the line. second run i spun off the line and again in second gear. the prep on the track was good i just didnt have the tire to hold the power. third run i threw the time slip away. was a 20 something. did my burnout staged and did a really conservative launch in hopes of getting some kind of traction and it fell on its face. couldnt get any rpm out of it. no boost. get back to the pits and pull my air filter and the turbo was seized. apparently i pushed it to far past its efficiency range. i really dont know what happened. it spins now but it feels like the shaft is bent. cant feel any play but i can see where the impeller hit the housing. gonna start looking for a new turbo soon. think im gonna try and find an hx35 and see what i can get out of that. also gonna try and find some drag radials to get the power to the ground.

it was spooling so fast and hard the suspension didnt have time to react and it would just spin. granted my tires arent the best i doubt anything short of some kind of drag radial or slick would hold.

You are making some power - nice... Now it's time to focus on reliability.

hahahaha ya that was my cousin. I took him for a spin after I did some tuning on 14psi I think. Oh okay I thought I read you were already on slicks? I run 275 mickey thompson drag radials. I have been fighting traction issues if I launch it on the 2 step but I was getting it worked out before the clutch started failing. Next week new clutch should get here and i'll be back at it again. Adjustable shocks seem to help me alot since I wasn't getting any weight transfer from the eddy ias shocks very stiff street shocks. If i don't launch the car it will do 1.9 sixty foots but I should be able to launch way harder then that with my current tires just like many other faster cars do lol. Which is why i'm still trying to dial in the suspension!

lol it had me cracking up. great video, looked like it did pull pretty hard. i was on 14psi this sunday. really wakes the slant up. i wish i could fit some 275's. i have 235's street tires on and im 1/4" from the springs and about the same on the other side. cant go any bigger. might relocate my springs in a little and do a mini tub. cant wait to see what you can do with a good clutch.

Blew the turbo up. Dang. Did it even run while the impeller was seized?

I'm still trying to make mine work even... I don't think I'm anywhere near blowing it up. lol

yea it still runs. still spins kinda but no boost. sounds really weird. thought i had a boost leak the way it was sounding. figured i popped a coupler. wasnt so lucky. ill try and get a video of it before i pull it off. it will spin and come to a dead stop when i let off the gas.

you will get it. you seem pretty persistent so its only a matter of time. you will love it when you figure it out.

almost forgot. i managed to do a little more tuning while i was at the track. took the pvcr's two sizes bigger as well as the jets. found a 2.5 power valve spring to throw in too after i had already drilled them. made the power valve open a little further and richened up the mix under boost to 10.8. when i get it all back together gonna start over on the main jets. glad that the power valve is opening and giving me the extra fuel like its supposed to. with that going on i should be able to get a better cruise afr then i had before. all in all its pretty close to being right where i need/want it in all aspects of throttle position.

Dang, thats too bad about the turbo but looks like it should be ready to rock once you remedy the turbo situation.
