car,, 68 barracuda, fast back, currently all stock, 7.25, 225 slant 904,,, not a lot of miles, but a lot of time sitting on the suspension..

inprocess of changing the rear to an 8.75, 742 center sectiion, 3:55 gears.while doing that thinking I should upgrade the rear springs..

plans for the car is a driver-strip car, will be a manual tranny car before it is done, responsive handling is important, but I am not nuts, no championship autocross aspirations,, tweaking and maxing the stock suspension is not only fine,,that makes it interesting.

I have a set of torsion bars to upgrade to, the 893-892 4BBL V8 bars,, advertized srping rate of 110.
Per Tom C's Classic Handling, a good condition is to have the rear springs slightly softer,,the torsion bars show as 110, the rear springs show as 85 spring rate.

anyone heard of or delt with these guys?

These guys will build whatever you want for a decent price located about 2/3 of the way easterly into Pennsylvania, so close for shipping to Indy. Just call them for your A Body requirements as those springs aren't listed on the site.

I cloned a Cuda Super S suspension when upgrading suspension on 67 Dar ragtop: 0.940" Torsion bars from Firm Feel, six leaf stock arch rear springs from ESPO, sub-frame connectors, 1.25" front anti-sway bar, rebuild to level 2 firm-feel PS steering box from Steer & Gear of Ohio, and four cheap gasmatic shocks. Car is flat in corners, no rear hop, zero hard braking dive, and steering feel is close to modern car, not at all like on ice over boosted factory feel.

I do have an 8 3/4 rear which is a bit heaver than a lesser axel, and seams to play well with six leaf springs.

Lower Control Arm rebuild and stiffener plates; both of which I have done to the Dart and install HD Strut Rod bushings.

Other parts one can add to stiffen up the car:
Torque boxes (Ragtop & Hemi cars came with these) or the full kit.

Bill
